Atlantic Beach Real Estate - Morehead City Real Estate

My commitment as your local REALTOR is to provide you with the specialized real estate service you deserve.  I accomplish this by getting to know you; your history, your hopes and your dreams. In return I share a lot of myself so that we become partners in the quest for the perfect property.

Allow me to introduce the woman behind the picture. I have been married since 1977 to the love of my life, Rick who is a flight instructor at Cherry Point Marine Air Station. We met at Cherry Point as young Marines and have traveled the world together. It was only natural though for us to choose to retire to Carteret County in 1996. We always liked being stationed here and wanted to raise our family in the area.

I loved the property here so much that I studied for my real estate license in 1980 and have been in the market as a broker on and off for almost 30 years. Continuing education is important to me and attaining my Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation has been a highlight in my career. I am currently working on Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) training and have earned the new Certified Distressed Propoerty Expert (CDPE) designation which allows me to help families who are in danger of losing theri homes to foreclosure. I am proud to bring these skills to my community.

Family is a priority. Chris our oldest son and his family McKenzie and Carter live with us, daughter Laura is a Registered Dietitian and works for Johnston County Schools as a Childhood Nutrition Supervisor and Jeff the youngest is a December 2010 graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Chemistry. All three attended Morehead City public schools and are grateful for the terrific educational experience they were provided. We plan time together in the midst of our busy lives and travel often to keep our ties close. Keeping us company  at home are Skippy our cat and Cookie the dog who thinks she is a cat too.

Real estate is a passion for me but I am also called to serve in my community. Rick and I are both volunteers with Croatan Trails District, Boy Scouts of America.  Rick was Scoutmaster to 20 Eagle Scouts and I serve as a Unit Commissioner, Assistant Finance Chair and member of the East Carolina Council Executive Board. The future of our community depends on how we raise our children.

Our entire family is active in First Presbyterian Church of Morehead where I  serve as an Elder, help coordinate the annual Christmas Cheer kitchen crew, sing in the Choir and usher.

Currently I am a team leader for the Rotary Club of Morehead City Noon and was honored to receive the Rotarian of the Year Award for 2008-2009. I am also a long standing member of the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce and the Carteret County Economic Development Council.

When we have a free moment Rick and I waste no time in getting our kayaks into the waters surrounding our home. From Bogue Sound to the Newport River we can be found paddling and enjoying the scenery from a very leisurely and unique perspective. Deserted beaches, marsh widlife and amazing sunsets are standard fare when we set out on a water trek. I'm hooked on the beauty of nature in Carteret County and can't wait to share it with anyone who crosses my path.
